1. They store all the models and textures they use inside the level file itself, this includes Lara in the outfit used for that level.
2. Lara's braid physics aren't possible in Tomb Raider 1.
3. Tomb Raider 1 only has 8-bit colour depth for its textures, so you can't really put textures from 2 or 3 into it as it doesn't have the required range of colours to display them correctly.
It may still be possible somehow, but I wouldn't bet on it, unfortunately. I'd love to be proven wrong though if the devs or a modder can figure out how to do it.
Thanks for your advice, but please use spoiler tag next times in case some one wants to find it out by themselves ;)
Anyway, I found the first jump by myself which seems ok in my opinion since you can either directly jump on the platform or hang with your arms.
But the 2nd jump was frustrating and I even checked a short yt video.
I tried that jump before i watched the video or read your post, but for me it was 100% physically not possible...
It's cheating because Lara's shoulder is basically inside the wall.
I really don't like the fact that players aren't supposed to get all items.
Cheers!
I think the difficulty of acquiring all items is unfortunately a by-product of the developers wanting to include alternate paths - there have to be a sensible amount of items on each forking path or it would be too much of a penalty for choosing a certain path without prior knowledge. Then again they put secrets that can only be obtained on certain paths which is more egregious than items if you ask me, since collecting all secrets actually has a purpose in TR3.
It's annoying that you have to use Enter for it.
The main thing that comes to mind for graphical improvements to me is the water and footprint textures in TR3.
The water, overall, looked better in Patch 2, and there's still glitchy looking waterfalls. Best example is in Nevada Dessert.
And the black footprints look like her boots are melting. Which isn't too bad in Nevada (with it being so hot), but it looks horrible in Antarctica. It's snow! Why is she leaving soot trails everywhere?
As for rounding off edges I wouldn't expect them to do it for every natural material in the entire games, it would be far too much work at this stage. Plus some care needs to be taken because climbing can look strange at certain angles when the edges are rounded, as Lara's hands will look like they're floating if the camera angle is towards the side of her.
