One of the problems is the original games only had one Lara model for the entirety of any given level, meaning it needs to be reworked for that to work.
Another issue is Lara's model in TR1 is very different from the ones in 2/3, and you can't give TR2/3 outfits to TR1 Lara without manually creating separate models for all the new combinations.
It should be technically possible, but it's most likely not a priority for them
Ahhh I didn't spot the quicksand update in path 1/2 - thx. I think they haven't put the actual water wibble code in because it's a post transform 2D effect (I looked at the original src code e.t.c.), Damn I really hope they put it back it - it really is a magical fx for the time!
