Venice Achievement Not Unlocking?

I replayed the Venice level 3 times trying to get the "I'm not your tourist" trophy. I didn't touch a boat any of the three times and it's not recognizing the completion.

I had no problems unlocking it.

I just ignored the first key and all the other stuff with the 2 gates.
Maybe getting the keys prevent the achievment? maybe a bug?

usual questions to be asked:
- did you use level-skip or weapon cheat?
- are you on normal mode or NG+?
- have you tried rebooting your machine? (not kidding. helped me unlock "I'm Not Climbing The Walls For This")

also: are you referring to the destructible gondolas or the player-drivable boat?

I did use the skip level cheat to get to the Venice level since I've play the game already, but that hasn't effected any of the other achievements when I've skipped. I'm on normal mode and I'm talking about both gondolas and the player driving boats. Didn't touch them at all. I will try rebooting everything.

I recommend as you play the game you create a new save in a new slot for each new level. If you need to save alternate saves on a level, go all the way to the bottom and save from bottom to top. That way you have a 'list' of levels and you can go back to them. Then you can die on them and use the 'restart level' option to play from the start.

Don't use cheat, certain achievements won't work because of that. Venice is just 2nd level so just beat The Great Wall short level again.

from what i've experienced with TR1, some achievements do work after level-skip, while most don't. same is probably true for TR2.

luckily you can get a clean save for every TR2 level from stella's site:

just be sure to backup your own savefile first before replacing it. but even if you start a new game, getting to venice shouldn't take more than 5 minutes :D

i can't get any achievements in TR2 to unlock other than the secrets/level completed.

i even went back yesterday to test very simple achievements on various levels, nothing unlocked.

no issues with TR1/TR3, but there are definitely issues with TR2.

Have the same issues with venice achievement. Didnt use any Cheats at all

and what others said don't pick up keys etc, just swim under the gate at start all the way to the boat house, hit the button swim under the gate (don't go up the BIG ramp, not sure if this triggers anything) then to the end, worked for me.

Try kiling the 2 T-Rex in the level before. I think this unlocks your desired achievment

dont use cheats, that will make most achievements not work
