That being said, if you plan on getting the NG+ achievement eventually, doing a seperate no medkit run beforehand is simply unnecessary, since you automatically get that achievement as part of a NG+ playthrough.
No medipack in TR2 is probably the worst because of the RNG with the many enemies with fire arms that can shoot at you before you can even aim, and other BS mandatory damage like the fall at The Deck that takes like 90% of your health.
Since TR2 has a lot of gun enemies, try and either get a lock and then put enough distance between you and them so they can't hit you, or stay behind them (either by running circles around, rolling towards them, or jump flipping towards them). If you do that, you should have plenty of medpacks to spare.
As for the infinite ammo cheat, it's:
- light flare (hold the lit flare, do *not* throw it)
- 1 step forward (hold walk and press forward)
- 1 step backward (hold walk and press back)
- turn around 3 times (don't think direction matters, just that you do 3 full 360 degree rotations)
- jump backwards
Make sure you have enough room behind you to get in at least 3/4 of the backwards jump, otherwise it won't count. I can attest that it works, as I did it last night to quickly get through some levels to test something
only works with tank controlls the ammo cheat
I would argue moderately difficult at worst.. bit restricting but these games are not that hard.
I got the no medipack achievement along with the achievements for getting every single drop, secret, enemy kill and only using Lara's default guns.. and without going over the save limit for the Play it like you did on console in 1996 achievement.
I got almost every other TR1 achievement along the way too albeit a couple I missed like all the deaths, and one of the time pieces.
That was all in a single run of the game while reloading for a couple of others like Killing the Bald Guy with the Shotty, Natla with Magnums and having to complete some levels twice to avoid killing certain enemies like the T-Rex.
The Hardest part of it was having to fight Natla at the end of the game with basically no health.. she killed me a good few times before I took her down with Pistols only since she'd essentially one shot me with my health xD
Was a bit of a pain but doable without getting hit.
The only one I intentionally didn't try to do in the first run was the under 5 hour speed run which would have made it significantly harder.. specially going for all the kills and pickups which would waste a lot of time.
On it's own though the 5 hour speedrun achievement is very easy to get.
My time for that was 3:50:17, more than a hour under the required time.. and I got almost half the games secrets to stock up on ammo and health packs.
Overall TR1's achievements have been pretty easy, though im having trouble getting one of them to activate in Unfinished Business.. seems Bastet's Stash is bugged atm.
Would be a bit broken if they did tbh..
Also play with Tank too, don't like the modern ones.
actually I spent around 30 hours the rest I left my pc on while the game was running because I fell asleep LMAO I only can play late at night and I often fall asleep playing games and left the pc/console on and go to bed because most of the times I go to bed already sleeping while walking lmao. You can say I'm lying you believe if you want but I won't denny the game wasn't easy like I said previously, I had to do many tries (like 50+ on each level) and also using the crap moder controlls just to cranck up the difficulty, the tank controlls would be easier since I'm used to it. 😊
As I said it is not impossible and you can make all achievements in one playthrough except the NG+ (the kill all enemies I didn't get it because the devs screwed me adding 1 enemy in the collosseum level and I was already in atlantis wating for the fix of the usi ammo in the all blocking the achievement for all items, so I count I "did" all in one playthrough but in the end I'll get it in the NG+ hehe 😁
