Other things to try: Check if the same thing happens when you use a different input device. Check what happens when you unplug all other controllers/HIDs. If you're a controller user, check if it makes a difference whether you're using Steam Input vs native controller support. Check your Task Manager for any processes/applications that might interfere with your input device. Check if it makes a difference when you whitelist the game in your antivirus software (do this while disconnected from the internet, just to be safe). Have Steam verify your game files. Delete the game and redownload.
These are all shots in the dark, though. Hopefully someone else has an easy fix for you.
This bug happens even with just a quick tap on the ALT key and then just holding CTRL to grab. There really shouldn't be any jump input left.
Which reminds me, I also had some awkward second jump after just one jump input. So it's not just on ladders. No idea how to reproduce, it's happening very erratically but when jumped towards ladders it's like 50% chance.
They are good in a controller. I can't say much about keyboard+mouse. My problem was more my mind confusing the buttons for playing tank my whole life, but I got used to them and now everything can be done faster.
