Anyway I am happy knowing the fixes. Gives me more incentive to go play again.
I have played through TR1 and UB several times now for achievement hunting.
Might give the modern controls a chance~ I agree its weird to not advertise that change more.
I think it is not necessary to report any changes to the T but I think it's a great bonus for people like me to mess with the game further.
I think the argument that the game should have been like this updated version from the start, is half right. We live in an internet world. Back in the day hot patches were crazy to get and install. Now it is easier. But time spent on developing is getting noticeably more costly. Aspyr is also doing this with another's IP. There surely is some time constraints involved in the agreements. I think it is fine to put out the game "on time" and hotfix, and even with the help of some community notes. As long as the game is playable without game breaking bugs or specific (hardware) issue. In fact Update 2 might be more fixes from community, is what I expect. Cutting cost and time with community involvement and getting the community active.
If the fixes were somehow pay-gated, then I would agree that this model is not warranted.
BUT HONESTLY, this game is really the worst example of misconduct with patches. As if games like No Man Sky and Fallout 87 (or what number) did not exist and look at them now.
All this negative talk about what must or must not be done with patch notes or patches in general is too "cancel culture"-like of a talk for a simple nostalgia project such as this and has nothing to do with the community as a whole. Not everything has to be "cancel-worthy" and not every community or member of it has to be "toxic". Just the more vocal ones will push such narrative or judge things as a whole like that.
Be smart; ask first if your perspective on "what happened" is right, wait for answers, then judge. The story might be surprisingly simple in the end, and here we are making day 1 speculations on what happened or what was supposed to happen.
Anyway, thanks to Aspyr for the actual patch and thanks to OP for shedding more light on the patch.
I'm excited to try it all out and hope you continue your efforts.
Otherwise, super cool patch! :3♥
Plus the Magnum 2d pick up image is cut off for all pick ups in classic mode.
I failed. :C
I played all TLA, TR2 and now playing TR3. Also TR1(3 levels).
Still on Lud's gate.
The atmosphere was ruined in some places in the three games due to decisions like this.
Look at the sea how friendly and safe it looks in the remaster compared to the original

Although the previous version is brighter than the original version, they didn't like that so they made it even brighter!
i saved right next to the unreachable uzi clip and upon loading it was now reachable. then i collected all the items in Atlantis and final level, and got the achievement.
