What exactly is racist?
I saw they added a warning calling these games racist without specifying what exactly. It's been a while since I played them but I don't remember anything racist.

I guess they're talking about the cannibals in Tomb Raider III, but I thought they were a fictional tribe on a fictional island. Are they worried about offending a tribe that literally doesn't exist?

And I wouldn't consider anything in these games to be a representation of the real world. Lara's world is filled with unrealistic things like magic and dinosaurs. So if there's unrealistic types of people, I just think they're people of a fictional world, not a representation of people from the real world.

And if you're offended by Lara mass murdering cannibals who might be just defending their homes, remember that she kills endangered animals, murders innocent Area 51 guard while freeing prisoners, murders innocent employees of Von Croy's company, murders innocent Louvre security guard, etc. She's pure evil already.

don't forget she tried to stab herself with the dagger of sian right before her mansion is invaded ;) even though she knows the ramifications of it.

Nothing but Crying Trolls trying to build up hate for the game

There must be something:

"These stereotypes are deeply harmful, inexcusable, and do not align with our values at Crystal Dynamics."

Something about these old games really triggered CD somehow. The studio wouldn't just attach such words to their release merely as a cynical, hollow, performative gesture...

Would they?

The opening level in TR3 has some black cannibals, one who threatens to cook and eat Lara in a cutscene. Those enemies also make animal noises upon death.

Everything in the game is triangles painted with textures.

Triangles can't be racist, not even equilateral ones.

Atlantean creatures have no skin in the game, today we know that atlanteans actually had skin!:gordon:

It really is this. They are jealous trolling cry bullies trying to tear down a good game because THEY didn't make it and can't take credit for it, so this is their way of putting their stinky mark on it. Like a petulant child knocking something over and breaking it so no one can have it just because they can't have it.

Am I supposed to find a problem with that in a video game?
You probably won't, but I assume those who don't view non-white people as animals would probably have some comments on that.

How many cannibals are playing the games to get offended by them? LMAO

I mean they do exist IRL, it's a thing, but I doubt any of them are playing on Playstation or PC originals or remasters to get mad about it. Or are CD worried they too will end up in the cooking pot in revenge?? :lunar2019crylaughingpig::lunar2019laughingpig:

- this is a stretch, bub. The guy specifically said video game and i will add that it is a 1998 video game. Anyone who will want to comment on that is braindead.:gordon:

Terrible; such lot can't distinguish fiction/fantasy (video game) from reality.
We need to put anyone who played a GTA game in prison right away as fiction and fantasy are the same as reality and that's a lot of crimes they committed getting through those games.

Imagine when they make a remake / remaster of Tomb raider Angel of darkness where she literally kills innocent people, just like french police. xdd

Just don't complain when any game you don't like aren't "historically accurate" for featuring minorities or women in positions of power. It is fiction after all.
