That's exactly the strategy. Crystal Dynamics have refused to remaster the originals, it took another company to purchase the rights for this to happen. CD don't want the game to sell, they want it to fail so their modern vision of Tomb Raider will be validated. There's a reason why they barely even advertised this remaster at all.
Well, screw you Crystal Dynamics. I'm going to purchase this product you had absolutely nothing to do with, and enjoy the far superior vision of this franchise. Anything they crap out of their self-righteous butts have not and never will be even remotely as enjoyable as the classics.
If the developers loved the originals, why would they add a divisive message with clear disdain to the originals?
Your ilk offer no explanation, as you know exactly why.
Since they seem to dislike the franchise's origin so much, perhaps it's for the best if Embracer eventually takes it away from Crystal Dynamics or sells the franchise off to a team that actually cares about the game's origins and doesn't want to turn it into boring AAA slop. The only thing Crystal Dynamics has been doing since taking the franchise over is running it into the ground and making it irrelevant.
I'm not upset, don't reflect that upon others, I just say people shouldn't be upset,
don't get that mixed up ;)
Hopefully, we get Crystal Dynamics to realize this, and if they do, they ought to release a patch for this game that removes that warning entirely, even though it only appears when you first boot up the game.
Actually, that's a good point. If the next Tomb Raider game has this particular version of Lara, I'd be on board with it.
