Lara's new look is somewhat odd

I just saw the new gameplayer trailer. Is that maybe why they didn't make gameplay videos before? To build the hype until the very last second? Because Idk... It feels weird. There's no textures on her and the art design feels off. It looks like a character from a mobile game. There's no shadows on her. The illumination feels werid af.

And the original version still retains the original feeling looking maybe 10% better than the original.

What did you guys think?

I guess I'm gonna have to try it and see it in full quality running on my PC to get a better feel. But if I don't like, plus there's all this new talk about the surprise forced woke disclaimer right at the splashscreen, I might just refund this. Maybe buy it a few months from now when it's with a 70% discount.

I wouldn't say it was 10%, I came to realise when posting to someone else here is that it doesn't showcase properly how the games really were at the time. It doesn't factor in the resolution being way lower, the shimmering textures etc so off the bat when compared like in the video you linked, the impact isn't as deep as it could be even if in my opinion it still looks great.

A few years ago I got a 'new' PS3 and thought of playing TBII. So I bought it on PSN. Man, that looked terrible. I didn't remember it looking that bad. The PC version still holds up pretty nice. But, anyway, the original look in the remaster looks about 10% better than the original PC version.

I don't know anything about the new control system, but I love the tank controls. It's what makes me feel like I'm actually the one playing the game, as oppose to Assassin's Creed where you hold 2 buttons and the characters does everything for you.

And you're right. I didn't think of that. We can change graphics styles on the go. I might play with that for a bit and spend hours confused never deciding which one I'll finish the game with.
