Starring Lara Croft?
What you did with the name of the game?
https://steamdb.info/app/2478970/history/
007 Starring James Bond, Kung Fu Panda Starring Po, Mass Effect Starring Shepard ... The only reason, i could made to understand why they change the name to an absurd combination (Lara Croft Starring Lara Croft) is that, they want maximize tags in the name, to showed up the game in every internet search. But now you will loose players which would find this name stupid, and remaster of this games deserve a good name.

I have the original games from the 90's and they also say "starring Lara Croft" on the cover so what's the fuss all about? It's a nice bow towards the original release, everything so far has been great about this release, can't wait.
As far as i know it was only the Sequel that said Starring Lara Croft. perhaps different European version?
true, TR1 was "featuring lara croft".

Starring your grandma most likely.

I don't know why I keep coming back to Steam Discussions. It's worse than GameFAQs and ResetEra mixed together. Every day there's a more asinine, reductive topic. Why do I keep doing this to myself?

Lara Croft was a video game mega star of the 90s.

If someone is literally considering not buying this game over "Starring Lara Croft" then I'm thinking there is something... wrong with them. I'm literally more worried about them properly animating the mud in India in TR 3 than if they use the classic subtitle "Starring Lara Croft".

Both games of the franchise after the first were not just titled by number. The official title of Tomb Raider II is actually "Tomb Raider II Starring Lara Croft." For the third game, it was "Tomb Raider III: Adventures of Lara Croft."

When the character "Lara Croft" became an icon after Tomb Raider 1 in 1996, Eidos the publisher decided to affix "starring lara croft" to the title, as she as a character became bigger than the game itself.

she was used in countless marketing in all sorts of brands and merchandise, looks like they are just keeping it consistent with Tomb Raider 2/3

It was reasonable in 90-s, there could be many people who new about "Lara Croft" but not about "Tomb Raider". Now there is not a single person in gaming who don't know about connection between this names, so anyone see that in the title "Tomb Raider I-III Remastered Starring Lara Croft", they use Lara's name twice, outside the fact that this lenght contradict to usability of titles.

How old are you, the name is great. Lara was breaking the fourth wall during promotion back then. She was really A STAR of this game.

I don't know what's worse, the fact that this thread is still going or the fact that I'm still reading it.

Why would anybody Not play the Game because of its title? That ist borderline retarded.

Me too. It's a mixture of curiosity and self loathing

I was wondering too.

Good to know it's most likely just a throwback.

And not suggesting future games will have a different character under the Tomb Raider title.

Because we'd ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ riot.

Modern companies don't care about player (user) opinion, they have PR department which job is to buy time (attention) on media, lie and silence negative respond (damage control).
