Many of the cutscenes are of this style -- and by that I mean they are pre-rendered animations that really don't match the in-game models or the gameplay very closely. There are also short scenes between levels that use the game's scenery and assets like a puppet show. I expect the Remasters collection will use this same combination. I don't know if it will use the original videos; but I doubt the final presentation will have any drastic creative changes.
The three games basically tell the same story but with unique supernatural artifacts to collect and different villains to defeat. I personally think the first Tomb Raider has the best human enemies though, because in TR1 they're singular archetype characters that serve the story as minor bosses. In the later games, most human enemies are uniformed henchmen that materialize throughout the levels to sap your health.
But 2 has a fun story, for me.
Lara is a cool character we get to experience adventures through, we don't need family drama to make her interesting. If anything it just makes her less likable.
Well saves the world from mystical horror is accurate.
2 though they're all good.
