League changes ahead
Hi,
with the next update (probably end of september) we will tweak the current league tiers a bit.
We will remove subtiers which will affect almost everybody.
After this patch you will be in a higher tier than you used to be, according to how many matches you won/lost and where this would have put you in the updated league tiers.

TLDR:
You will be closer to masters and masters will have more wins in their score. Everybody will have the same distance from each other afterwards.

Well, that will be considerably easier to understand, I reckon. I'd like to see AM switched from wins minus losses as well.

It still does not tackle the core problem of the current system. Masters don't get penalties for losing vs low league players.

That is true Schein, but that was also not the main issue we wanted to tackle with that change.

The aether master problem is also a critical mass thing, with more active masters, you would still be stuck at some point.

On the other hand, before we saw people not playing ranked any more after they reached masters because losing against a good player from gold had too huge impact on their score.
(Of course instability things also played a role, getting disconnected against a bronze player was game breakingly frustrating)

BUT, and I did not communicate this well enough, the season will be decided by a tournament of the best masters. I will start announcing this and also the number of participants and how I want to facilitate it (which I still need to figure out ..) as soon as I can.

Sorry about not being as present as I used to be, but we're still the small team from alpha with so much more things going on with publishing, marketing and going international with the game.
Which hopefully all will turn out to be beneficial for all of us in the end.

Hey, no problem about less forum presence. I'm glad to hear there are further goings-on related to Aerena. :) Also, the flow of posts here is way down.
