stuck on Arizona mission - Unfortunate Trip

I was watching some youtube videos from 2 months ago and the youtubers were allowed to select an offroad vehicle for this mission, but mine is locked to a scout vehicle only. I wonder if that changed as part of the patch?... I get stuck in mud going up the hill trying to tow the van up the hill and the truck just spins side to side or gets bogged down. I have tried using a winch but there are no solutions to be able to get up and out of the mud and then be able to attach my towed vehicle. I am on my 7th restart...dont know what to do anymore...I will take your tips on this one. I cannot get better tires as they are locked against progression and I cannot get a more powerful scout then this without further progression - if one exists. Also better engines are locked as well and the upgraded one contains less power.

Try using some vehicles from mods, before you waste time and get frustration by trying again and again with stock trucks.

I think i did that mission few days ago, after patch.
Could not do it with the "Defender" Scout with lift kit and mud tires.
But was able to use Offroad truck, did it with the 3 axle one, stock susp. offraod tires.
But it was close/annoying.
