Please help with setting?
Hi all,

I really like this new edition and see the potential of it. Good to see also that some of the mod creaters are already all over it.

Just need to know how I can prefend that braking goed into the auto-reverse. Where can you turn this off?
Anybody an idea? As often now I want to brake hard and go full in reverse; LoL

Thanks for your time!

Generally not possible.

Only way ist to go in low gear or high gear. Later in the game you will have access to offroad or fine tune gearbox. Driving with Low+ is also not too slow for some trucks. Other than that - driving in A means auto reverse after stopping.

I was afraid of this, hopefully one day we get actual gears.

It's not an issue if you equip the offroad or fine tune gearboxes. You use High range or any of the multiple low gears for forward motion, and shift into reverse to back up. No need to use automatic at all.

What you want is already in game

No, you found a work-around. I still would like to have normal gears. That would be great, working with clutch,.. setting it on a hill starting in 1st gear, etc.

Again, the work around was already mentioned and better than nothing, but still hope we get gears one day. But the same aply for front, rear and mid diffs. There will, almost, always something to wish for.

"Normal gears", simulated manual transmissions etc haven't EVER existed in this series of games. Not in Spintires, not in Mudrunner and for damn sure not in Snowrunner, which simplified the physics and vehicle management from the first two games.

It's certainly a reasonable ask and something I'd also like to see incorporated into the gameplay. That said, it's an open question whether the game engine can even support the granular transmission, gearbox and torque modeling that a lot of us have had on our wishlists for the series for the past decade.

Yeah, engine support is good question. So far from what I see tires don't seem to work like in real life, looks like they just apply a horizontal force on the contact with ground. So when you push your wheels against a tall vertical obstacle, instead of wheels going up you get blocked.

I've found that if I air down my tires they'll climb up ledges and obstacles pretty reliably, often without even needing the winch. If I don't air them down at all it's much harder to get the truck to climb up and over without winching.
