Why am I unable to winch my vehicle to anything after I tip over, all of a sudden? It worked a few times, but now I'm on the last of the starter expeditions in Arizona, and whenever I tip over, my auto-winch doesn't work, and when I try to pull it out manually, it says it's "unavailable". So, besides the auto-flips, how the phuck am I supposed to work my way over? I did it just fine earlier, and I swear it was a feature in the other "runner" games.

a stupid idea they had since Spintries.
Wait for modder do a "electric" winch that works no matter what as it should if we want any form of realism.

Pay attention to winch descriptions. All scout winches are autonomous - that means they'll work even when you're tipped over.
Truck winches are not, the means you'll need to pack jack-screws for emergencies.

Idk it worked when I flipped again later on. It was either a bug, or like someone mentioned, the winch wasn't autonomous. I'll take a closer look later, but I really do feel like I was just bugged at the time, as I'm pretty sure it was my scout both times.

Most winches run on a power take-off from the engine. If you want to make absolutely sure you can winch even if you're unable to run your engine, you need an autonomous (battery powered) winch. Or pack one of the bits of gear that will allow you to flip your vehicle over without needing a winch at all.

We're talking scouts, not trucks? I also have only the first 2 and I've never had them not work on scouts. I stopped taking the jack-screw on my scouts in Carpathias cause there are always trees to winch to if I flip.

On the subject of Winches I've sent some YouTubers have auto winch prompt without having to go into devices, is this the autonomous one?

Are you referring to quick winch in which you just hit a hotkey and it attempts to winch onto whatever is nearby? Autonomous winch just means the engine doesn't have to be running to work.
