Expeditions: A MudRunner Game

Expeditions: A MudRunner Game

Feedback After 15 Hours
So far, I can say that the game is pretty much exactly what I wanted. With more of a focus on exploration and more varied missions than its predecessors, I am loving it. However, fans of the previous games who prefer the big-truck hauling aspects of those games may be disappointed.
There are two things that I would like to see changed/removed: The "Explore the area" tasks and the "click the button when the line is between the brackets" QTE events.
The QTEs in particular are jarring in the way that they interrupt game play and just don't feel like they belong in this type of experience. Please get rid of them, they really are terrible!
The "Explore the area" tasks feel like the game is wasting my time on purpose. There's no real game play, and often there's nothing to even find in the area, it's just something we are forced to do before we are allowed to continue playing the game that we are trying to play. They are also aggravating because when there is something to find, like plane wreckage, the task doesn't complete once you find it. You have to keep going until you get the full percentage explored. It's a bit aggravating. Those tasks need to be made more involving, or just removed altogether.
Besides those minor things, this is exactly the game that I was hoping for, and I'm eagerly looking forward to the Year 1 content.

I had to backtrack a couple times. Even tho I had completed the objective, I didn't do it in the manner the game wanted. The plane was one. The other was pulling out the stuck truck in Little Colorado. I didn't get into the box so after pulling the truck back to base, I had to go back and touch the square to proceed. It was mildly annoying. Now I know to trigger those things as it can't figure it out on it's own.

I am enjoying the game too, but I did expect something different. It breaks the immersion when I have to exit the expedition to change the objective, outfit my truck or get different vehicles, etc.. The expedition system as a whole isn't really my thing. I was hoping it was more of you get dropped in and you have to work to build your base which in turn would provide ways to do those things in game.

However, I love the overall feel of this one over previous titles. Way more offroading and finding your own way kind of stuff. My favorite part of the old games was scouting out maps. Hauling equipment was fun, but I liked being able to offroad & not having to just find the best road for the trip.
You have forever lost a customer when I read:

QTE's are a dev's way to force a narrative.

Hard, hard, pass.
Did you finish the game after 15 hours?
I don't mind the QTE or explore area.
Rest of the game feels extremely subpar to rest to me.
From the tricky "free roam" after finishing expedition, to no mud (so far, like one puddle), to no switching regions and vehicles at will. It's all very meh.
Basically its a bunch of people just needing to complain ive played about 20 hours now and i love it far more than i ever liked snow runner. Also being that I have played since day one Spintires, it;s a very welcome change of pace.

I got tired of delivery missions with terrible trailers Physics and constantly flipping trailers by way of invisible catapult tree/rock. Also the damage model is so much better in this one, now i can bomb down a smooth grassy smooth hill and not right off my vehicle anymore.

i have 20 hours and finished only first big map to 20%, tutorial map is small so its easy to get 100% there, and second big map I did not seen it, i first want this one to 100% then move to new one. Maps are very big, game is massive.

look here, looks like just a main base is a region of its own and 2 other regions with 4 maps each, so 9 maps total

I haven't played Expedition yet. If carrying big truck / trailer / cargoes aren't main contents, I would be one of them who you said. 😂
I love all the games the devs put out so I am really looking forward to this. I didn't even see there was early access so I am going to buy now. I have like 1000 hours spread across mud runner and snow runner on epic.

Yoooooooooo after 500 hours on snow runner, I missed driving a rig. They even let you deflate your tires now for more traction!!!!!!! LET’S GOOOO

I also really like that they actually included rock crawling to the mechanics of the game as well. Like you could rock climb in snow runner, but to me it wasn’t a core gameplay mechanic so it felt like they left out things such as deflatable tires, movable winch points. It’s like now I can say “see that cliff, I want to see if it can scale it” and it all cumulates to having to use 4 low, and all wheel drive and tire deflation more strategically. In snow runner once you got good equipment and a good truck you could basically use 2-wheel drive everywhere as long as it wasn’t deep mud. Man, I am really enjoying the game a lot.
