in windows settings, check your audio quality. change it to lower or higher. there's really no point going over 44100hz audio, that's insanely high already. my audio card can do 192000hz, but most programs have issues even with 48000hz, but some games have issues with 44100hz.
i've had similar sound issues in some games and changing between the quality fixes it, however then some other programs have issues, so i have to swap back.
it could also be due some audio effects that are enabled in windows settings or in your audio panel (whichever you're using).
yeah windows can be real pain with audio devices, it really got on my nerves.
it kept setting my montior audio as default ... like WHAT THE F? WHY?? i have high-quality 7.1 sound card and speakers + passthru for 7.1 headset .. what sense does it make for me to use monitor audio as default?
those donkeys at microsoft are mental to think that anyone would want to use monitor audio as default .. and windows kept doing it aswell, ALL THE TIME!
it boiled me up to a point where i had to use group policy editor (gpedit.msc) and added restrictions for audio devices. you can do this in gpedit > computer configurations > administrative templates > system > device installation > device installation restrictions > prevent installation of devices using drivers that match these device setup classes > set it to "enabled" and add these under options by clicking on "show":
{4D36E96C-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
4D36E96C-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318
and apply.
then uninstall all audio devices you don't want. this prevents windows from re-installing those annoying audio devices, but this also prevents installation of cameras (such as usb webcams) and it can mess with other software aswell that requires audio. for example it interferes with geforce experience installation.
so you have to set it back to "not configured", install whatever you need and then configure it again and set it on "enabled".
However any kind of extra audio device shouldn't cause your audio to cut out or crackle or do anything, if wrong audio device is selected, it would either be ON or OFF, it won't be switching between (unless you keep unplugging / replugging the device).
32GB RAM
RTX 3090 Ti
your running a 6 core chip with a top end rtx 30 seies card.... thats explains it, serious bottleneck, the cpu is most likely maxing out to 100% causing the sound drop out issue
Though, I’ve thrown a lot of games at this rig and it’s handled everything perfectly fine, until this game.
I'm playing on an old i7 7700 CPU with a 3070 and it runs at a solid 60 fps @ 1440p with ultra settings and zero sound issues.
It is very unlikely this is a CPU related problem on their end
yea i was running a ryzen 5 2600x on a gtx 1070 for a short time cause i was already seeing games go to 100% cpu on it, a friend sent me a 2700x 8 core free before i got my rtx 3070 and they run great together
a 3090 is faster then a 3070 though, he needs more
i looked it up and a 5600x and 3090 is a 42% cpu bottleneck
as a note, CPU is between 20-30% used on 4K ultra settings, game runs smooth.
Must've been some oddity of first launch of the game.
