after just about managing the first 2 missions i came to level 3 the first tow mission and completed without damage or faults (that 2nd mission wow i went some crasy ass way across the map that i wasn't suppose to and lucky i got an airdrop with 5 tow anchors and had to pull myself out the river that i was stuck in and then another 3 to get up what felt like a mountain but at this point i had not even changed tyre pressure
As for your reference about speed Well... funny you mention the speed as yeh it sure does feel that way that they drive very slow off road , please note im new to these games and this is my first time playing this style of game and yes it sure does feel like they move slow but im only on the starter zone and i expect once you start getting upgrades or better vehicles they will perform with a bit more speed ,
i came to realise that on these early levels if you dont drive slow and steady you just crash and bounce all over the place then take damage from a little rock so i dont think this game is about speed or driving fast
p.s.
i do have a long play time i just left the game running while cooking and eating food
If you want fast offroading, you should be looking into rally games instead. There's no pre-prepared trails here, there's not a single road, and you'll either be driving inside canyons or across mountains. There isn't an opportunity for going fast. And if you do go fast, you'll hit rocks and damage your vehicle at best, or wreck your vehicle at worst.
It's not a competition game. It's for slow technical off-roading and that part it does well. Whether or not it's your cup of tea, that's your question to answer.
Low gear increases your torque by using a different gear ratio, and it also allows you to lock your differentials (which forces all wheels to spin at the same speed regardless of the terrain). It also caps your max speed by preventing upshifting, which makes it useful for delicate maneuvers and for controlled hill descent (you can just set the vehicle to low gear and let it roll down without stepping on the accelerator).
excellent thank you
my opinion is that the paths are not really clear and the paths that you can figure out, have large boulders along the way that makes the game difficult to travel down a mountain or up a mountain.
I had come across few times the obvious path and would have to cross a river, in which Id get stuck and need to restart and when I crossed, I would be faced with a ledge I would have to drive up but there would be no way to move up because the vehicle is either too low, or wheels cannot reach high enough etc.
the game does seem like, at least to me unnecessarily difficult.
Use the drone and the binoculars to reveal the map and see the landscape layout. Then study the terrain map for possible routes. After you've done this, use the drone again to fly there and verify that the proposed routes are feasible before you attempt to use them.
Nothing like rolling your vehicle down the tallest mountain in the map and your were within 15m of an upgrade...thats why this is fun for me.
