What to do with things I find like Dinosaur bones ?

I have returned dinosaur bones and something else that I have found to the main start point. It says to do something with them in the workshop but I can't find a workshop. Does this unlock later in the game or am I missing something please ?

Bones you can sell to shop directly or just return to HQ with them in your inventory to sell.
Scrap metal goes into a Workshop which is a base module that is unlocked later.

Thanks that makes sense will wait to unlock the Workshop. Where do I sell the bones from as I can see them in the HQ but only have an option to transfer them to my current vehicle.

HQ =/= field base.
If you're still on the map you put them in your inventory and then choose the shop that has all the deployables to sell the bones. Otherwise just keep them in your inventory and choose the return to HQ option form ESC menu.

Got them sold now, I was trying to sell in the field base and had to go to one of the placed tents.

You should be able to tab into the sell menu from the field base too.
