Turning radius is too wide playing with mouse & keyboard
I'm currently playing this game on MNK and I'm forced to make wide turns constantly or do 3 point turns with great effort, because I suspect this game is not optimized for MNK or I'm missing something in the settings. I'm currently playing other video games like "SCUM" with vehicles implemented and using a MNK is not preventing me from making tighter turns with relative ease. Before I spend money on a game pad with a joy stick (looking at Azeron), I just want to stop by here to see if others had this issue and was able to resolve it. I was okay with it on maps like Little Colorado and Arizona, but the trees in Carpathians requires you to make tighter turns. I have driven up to a 5 ton Military trucks IRL off-road and small pick ups like the Taco and don't make turns like I'm having to do in this game. Even the Don 71 is turning for me like a semi truck. I really like this game otherwise, I'm just trying to find ways to love it.

I don't see the connection to mouse / keyboard here. All trucks have a max steering angle which is totally independent from you input device. The wide radius is a intended gameplay element, I guess. I don't know, if this is authentic. But I suppose it is mostly authentic and it feels right for me at least.

If you like to do a tight turning in the Carpathians, you can use your winch. Like Badman would do with his Bad Car. :-)

Smaller vehicles tend to have better turn radius. Some larger vehicles have 4 wheel steer or rear wheels that steel opposite direction. Just depends on the vehicle.

To be fair, I shouldn't expect to have the ease of control and handling of the vehicles that I have driven in other games. Since the handling of these vehicles in this game takes more effort than I'm used to, lead me to speculate that an MNK may not be the most appropriate peripheral to use here for the best driving experience. This is by no means a criticism of this game, but rather a realization that this is a more challenging game and need to adapt to it. With that said, I have since ordered a controller to use hoping to elevate my gaming experience. I appreciate your response and sharing your personal experience with the gameplay, but I'm also curious as to the peripheral type that you are using with this game.

Turn Diff Lock off during turns............

After finally connecting a controller to use instead of my MNK, I'm no longer making extremely wide turns. Using a MNK is still doable for this game, but I don't think this game is calibrated optimally for MNK use, so I recommend using a controller instead, and I'm confident that a compatible wheel set up is probably even more responsive. I hope this helps someone.

that isn't to do with mouse / keyboard thats how those trucks are in real life, you can only turn sharper if the vehicle has a short wheel base

I understand the theory and it's a simple concept to grasp. So I don't come off argumentative, I will just say perhaps that I have a faulty A & D key on my keyboard, and switching to a controller fixed my gameplay issue.

The ingame vehicles have this 25 degree turning angle, where on average they can get up to 40 degree angle on their solid axles on the front. For me this one fact is made because there is this wheel offset with the lifted and whatnot suspensions, that have like wheel spacers, that make the wheel itself to move back and forth when steering and it will collide with the body of the vehicle IF made with the 40 degree turning. Check every vehicle with widened wheelbase and you will see it.

Hitman_2, thank you for this explanation and everyone else above that contributed in this discussion. I am very satisfied with these explanations regarding the in-game performance of these vehicles.
