I'm very confused by this game
So the entire premise of the game is exploration and creating your own route, which sounds incredible since it is taking the best part of snowrunner and focussing the entire game on that one aspect. I loved, uncovering the map, getting to a point and building bridges etc to make future journeys easier in Snowrunner. But in playing Expeditions, there is no "exploration" to be done. You don't discover waypoints, secrets, shortcuts through rough terrain, upgrades...Its literally just linear missions like a "challenge mode". I don't understand how they missed the mark so badly with such an easy concept to get right that they had got right in snowrunner...

You can literally discover every one of things you listed and more.

Everything you described is discoverable. You won't see that on the first map because it's tiny. The main maps are large enough to let you explore. Sometimes the routes you can take will be limited because of your truck not being good enough.

why is it always the level 0 private accounts that post nonsense? this is literally like 5th post i see in past 24 hours that comes from level 0 private account and gives false information + complaints.

if you're going to complain, have some guts to use your main. i think those are some youtubers alias accounts, they are too afraid to say those things using their main, so they get alias account that they can use for complaining and throwing dirt at game.

anyway @everyone, before judging and complaining.. play more than 5 minutes. i see it a lot these days, that people judge games based on tutorial mission and think they know it all.
it feels like someone made that account just to buy and then instantly refund, just so they can use that level 0 account to complain.

Such stupidity. Of course, people create new Steam accounts on purpose to leave a negative opinion. Or maybe it’s a matter of inflated promises? The developers promised a new experience, but in fact we received crooked, buggy, unfinished DLS at the price of an AAA game.

Sorry but no one ever does this, I never understand the people that say these things. I keep mine private because it's not anyone's business what my profile says or what games I play. If you think people just make accounts to complain about a game then I really don't know what to tell you.

I literally have mine on private so that friends cannot see my recent activity and call me out for not playing with them...level 19 btw

The first 10 expeditions I've done were a very guided experience. Go 250m this way, then go another 250-500m this other way, now use this tool we required you to bring. I hope they open up later on and don't hold my hand so much.
Free exploration and some contracts were more enjoyable, I'm enjoying that part.

This game is still unfortunately plagued by bugs and glitches even after the big April patch. The UI is horrendous, constant glitches with trees bugging out and shaking on the ground. Trees falling through the ground, binoculars are janky AF! Looking through them causes the game to run a something like 10fps and they move sooo slow. You can't see tasks until you're loaded into the game map so can't prepare accordingly. The whole module system feels totally redundant with very little in game explanation as to how it works. I've complete over the half the game and havent had to use it. Massive load times occasionally when opening an airdrop or placing something for a mission like a camera trap. Upwards of 2mins. Makes me think the game has crashed but I can still heard the engine noise so. This game needs some serious work. Very disappointing considering they have a solid foundation to build upon

I’ve just got the game for Xbox gamepass. I’ve completed the first map entirely and started with the second map, only to notice that it’s annoying to have the binoculars move as slow as reduced Low diff lock. Let alone the Drone itself won’t recognize mission locations until you’re on-top of them, what’s the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ point then? Making the single to multiple use items cost as much as what you’d receive out of the crate, then the building modules are at least 30% more then what they should cost in retrospect to usually never needing to use them. For example, let’s take a scout vehicle out on a trip, flip it and get it completely stuck, Now invest 40000 bucks into a helicopter to deliver a vehicle beside the flipped one so you can help recover it for just some gas, OR you can just hit recover for 1400. Tell me why I’d need a minimum of at least 10 flips to make the helicopter worth it? I won’t flip over if i invest the 5000 into a rock suspension, saving me the 40000 forever because its lone use is for the biggest vehicle getting stuck in a crevasse and it costing 15000 to get it out. For 15000 IGD I’d just shut my system off without saving and reset. Other wise if you like watching bouncy trucks and nice physics, play the game it’s fun.

I think OP is just clown award farming. Though it's sad more people don't *get* this game cause it's a lot of fun and a great break from Snowrunner.

noticed this since the first i i tried it, that open world explore the unknown feeling any which way you want, just wasn't there., and yeah that's completely missing the mark, of an important reason the fist 2 games were such a critically acclaimed success.

It's mindblowing that so many people will sit here and say you can't do things that you literally do in the game. You find shortcuts of a few different types. You build bridges AND clear blocked paths. You find tons of upgrades. There are literally no roads in the game so you HAVE to find the best path through the terrain on your own. You have multiple methods of exploring the landscape... what are you people talking about??

You can also absolutely "open world explore" as much as you want to. I've had runs where I completed a contract and then a half dozen side objectives before finally cashing out and heading back to base.

Since this game is mainly about exploration, I would definitely recommend it to people who like you and like to explore and run around every corner of the map. In the previous series, which ended up being mainly about trucks, this is the game where scout vehicles come to life the most, so I would recommend it to people who have been troubled by the misfortune of scout vehicles.

Also, since you can open the area by flying a drone, it's easy because you don't have to go. In Snowrunner, I often got stuck just a little bit away from the watchtower and cried, and the last 10 meters were far away.

In addition, Expeditions allows you to form a team, so if you gather your friends and go, you can travel with a beautiful woman. There are no events or conversations, but there are no beautiful women in Snowrunner, and there are no missions to transport beautiful women.

However, on the other hand, the missions and quests are often just a repetition of going to a set point on the surface, so I don't think it has as much diversity as Snowrunner, and there are fewer of them.

What everyone yelling here, including yourself, needs to realize is that Expeditions and Snowrunner are different games to begin with, and it's strange to compare them on an equal footing.

Every game has its pros and cons.

Expeditions is deep vertically, and Snowrunner is wide horizontally.

When was I ever "yelling" something about this? I was pointing out people complaining that "X thing isn't in Expeditions" when it IS in Expeditions?
