i pretty much only use offroad for vehicles with switching diffs, highrange for the rest and i hate the slow shifting in the finetune gearbox
The standard gearbox also has the same problem in A gear, but at least there you can get it moving in L gear and then switch back to A. Of course the downside of the standard gearbox is that having neither L+ nor H gear means you have to deal with the constant downshifting to 1st gear which this game does across all trucks.
I wonder what went wrong when they ported the ANK from snowrunner, where it was such a powerful truck that they had to limit its use to flatbed only because otherwise it would've been too overpowered.
On the bright side, the number of missions that actually require a heavy truck has been very small so far. For the vast majority of missions, the TUZ 16 Actaeon is still my favorite truck. Fully upgraded it feels like it's the perfect allrounder.
Check the gearboxes tab over at Expeditions Extras[docs.google.com], if the first gear is over 2.0 - it's problematic.
A slight lowering of the first gear values is a massive improvement.
So realistically tested by the dev team… that people have to edit xml files. Nothing changes. Had to do the same in Snowrunner 🙄
