In your situation the only solution is to abandon current expedition and star again. ESC - return to headquarters.
I have to say, that totally sucks. My plan was to have multiple vehicles setup with fuel, repair points etc, but that is obviously a non starter.
I did not realise about the winching thing, so I will have to restart the whole mission.
Which, if I am honest, I really cannot be bothered with at the moment. This has killed some of my enjoyment of the game, as I might as well just have one truck with everything on it.
I do get you are supposed to setup for each expedition,
I suppose I could winch one truck through, then drive back through the gateway and winch another one through, but it seems like a lot of effort.
I think I will shelve this game for a while and go play other games, then I will come back and try a new save and plan differently, now I know I cannot freely move between maps.
Cheers
After my last message, I did try to recover and it reset all 3 of my trucks, so I had to start the entire thing again. Had to re select the trucks, had to re equip them etc. I did that, loaded the map and drove the step and acteon as far as the airplane and have now unfortunately lost interest.
It is my own fault, as I think I was expecting something more like snowrunner, where you had a base (garage) and all the expeditions were available from there, so, like Snowrunner, you drive back to the garage when you need to upgrade a vehicle etc. However I thought I could leave vehicles around the map to act as re supply. rescue etc.
Obviously, the gameplay is completely different to what I imagined and I am not enjoying the linear format, and I really do not like that the entire map and all your vehicles reset after each expedition.
There are a lot of good features in the game, and I have enjoyed some aspects. I did buy the season pass version, so I will play it again in the future, but for the moment I think I will leave it for a few months and try again.
