From the original developers of Nether, to Nether's Community
To the Nether community,

Phosphor Games was terribly disappointed to hear that the MBER backend for the game had to be shut down before some alternative could be put in place. When we signed on to the project, we were very excited by the possibilities of all that Nether could be, and envisioned a long future of fun and growth. We feel like the game we made was a solid start, and over a half million of you joined us. Once we were removed from the project after it left Early Access, we’ve seen the title mishandled and the community divided and weakened. We understand that many of you put your hard earned money and time into this game and we know that the community has seen the game deteriorate significantly over time, and now shut down.

Phosphor Games is passionate about seeing this game live on in some form and we are going to do everything we can to make sure the community can continue. You deserve to play the game you paid for! We think it’s unfair that the servers are being shut down without first having some sort of transition plan, especially since many of you recently purchased the title (or have given it many hours of your time). With the recent news in mind, we have begun discussions with Nether Productions about re-taking control of the game in some fashion. If we succeed, our budget won’t be large, but we will be committed to putting the game in a better place for all of you…you deserve it. We don’t want people to lose access to a game that they own. We will keep the community updated and we hope to talk to you soon.

I love you Phosphor Games, selling it to PureFPS was a terrible mistake. Hopefully you can make it work! Good luck!

I hope this is due to me and other people notifying Phosphor Games.
I must say I was well shocked about the way Nether was handled so I've contacted Phosphor and an old developer I know (Puppet).
Maybe they were already aware about the current state of the game and decided to do the above.
Any case.
Thanks.

I'd say do some crowdfunding Phosphor. Get Nether back on it's feet, i'm sure others will love to help.
Assign Kpopp back to being community manager and please for godsake, remove PoXyz.

glad to hear something is being done about the servers. i rember when the vechicle worked in this game and it was as dangerous as any other threat. my biggest advice devs and please listen. add an in game report system that way the cheaters cant kill off your remaining players. that and desegregate your community while still providing fun side content.

What a Player with 11 Hours makes comments on a 2 year problem. you Hero.
go back to being there 2013, where all Nether Early Release players were.

Sh*t I had 461 Hours and stopped playing 18 months ago due to what was happening.
HELLO, this has being going on longer than your 11 hours playtime.
Gee, my first 11 hours let me think.
Killed in Safezones.
Killed by tribe members
Killed by HACKERS every day, every way.
Then killed again by tribe members in safe zone, shot in the back.
Killed again by Hackers using Aimbot.
AAH! the OLD Days , it seems like yesterday.
OH! I forgot killed by a Ghost, while in a safe snipper squat redemming heath 2 floors above anything except Aimbot. shot thru a wall by a ghost standing on thin air. a block away
Get Real, prior to commenting.

Sweetheart, let me respond on behalf of Lucifur since I'm the same person to begin with. This account having 322hours and last played 4-1-2015. So yea thank you. Im no noob with 11 hours. I started playing on October 2013 with different accounts and I do not make up names such as Kpopp, Puppet and PoxyZ because those are the names who were running nether on communities end. So next time you see an 11hour account for nether respond, don't think it's a noob:)

thanks.

Wow i didn't expect this at all i want to get the feel of the early Nether days back
JavaJack Sep 29, 2015 @ 10:53am
Wow, I never thought this could possibly happen. They better give you the rights to do what you want with the game. I stopped playing around the time you guys, Phosphor, left the game, and I do very much agree that they mishandled it... like a lot. I would definately re-install the game and play it if you guys got control of it. Screw the other developers.

Hey BravoEcho, we didn't leave the game, the publishers decided to go in a new direction and hired a new developer.

Hey Lucifer,

Glad you're passionate about this. Thank you for letting us know. We found out because of the outpouring of Nether users on the web. We understand the frustration and appreciate the passion from you guys on the boards.

We will certainly keep you guys updated if we make progress and what we plan to do with our limited budget if we're able to take control again.

I'm the current community manager for Phosphor. Nice to meet ya and we hope to be in touch with you guys soon.
