Good concept, garbage execution. I feel like this is not only "A Hostile Interpretation Of Immersive Sim Design", but also a hostile interpretation of gaming UX in general.
I like the idea of having a randomized set of tools to solve puzzles. Due to the game's random nature, some puzzles are very hard or even impossible to complete. I can live with that and this may be what drew me into this game. I don't have any complaints about this aspect. Even Balatro sometimes throws you a boss that completely destroys your run.
There are 3 major complaints I have with the game: controls, platforming gameplay, and information delivery.
When looking at the controls page in the settings, I feel like the controls of this game was designed for the original NES controller. There are only 8 required buttons (just like the original NES controller): up, down, left, right, jump, shoot, change weapon, and pause. The mouse (or analog sticks if you are playing with a controller) are almost useless. There are only 6 directions of aiming (↖←↙↗→↘) and aiming affects both your character and items at the same time, meaning that you can will accidentally manipulate items when you don't mean to. This game also has "mouse aiming" but it only allows for the 6 directions mentioned above and I found myself toggling it on and off every minute or so while playing.
Remember the "tight" controls of Hollow Knight, Celeste, and the like? You can forget about that while playing this game. Platforms are about as slippery as wet floor. Each type of object has different values for acceleration of gravity. Contraptions you made are as janky as (or even jankier than) what you will find on Garry's Mod.
This game tells you very little information about itself. The menu is somewhat confusing (there are multiple options for "play") and the in-game items have absolutely no descriptions whatsoever. You won't know what an item does until you have tried it yourself, have someone else use it (be it your friend or someone on the internet), or read an online guide.
What the devs say on the "about this game" section is all correct, but a lot of what they don't put in there needs significant improvements.

Great moody atmosphere, music and graphic design.
But its just not my thing... the controlls suck - aiming is only possbile in 4 directions and combined with the same keys as walking. Jumping is more like hopping, the only use beeing to spam it to try and glich up a slope or block. 90% of the gameplay is just realising: This level is impossible to beat with my weapons wohooo *restart*. Most weapons never help in any but one specific layout of level. You try to be creative but if its combined with these limited controlls its impossbile to have a fun solution and if so out of complete random luck.

Its a fun idea but its not fun to play.

this game can't even detect the nonexistence of my controller and ignores the fact that i have a mouse. counterintuitive frustrations from the getgo. wtf is this overrated bullcr*p?

Overrated and incredibly basic. I looped the same level with different tools 5 times in 20 mins. One of the common levels is an ad for their discord server. Sometimes the game will give you tools that you cannot complete the level with. The biggest flop is that you can't aim in diagonals, however "up" is not straight up.

Didn't take me long to realize this game was not for me. If this was a free flash game from the early 2000s, my review would be different. Shocking that it's rated overwhelmingly positive.

It seems like an okay experiment, but there really isn't a lot here to justify $5 unless you're really gonna keep replaying over and over and over.

Bills itself as a hostile interpretation of the immersive sim, well, i wanna know what immersive sims have to do with the price of tea in China. This is a hostile interpretation of the puzzle platformer, and you know what? It actually IS a good thing for puzzles to have pre-designed solutions.

i don't think i'm evr gonna get the hype, really.

i get the idea, but i'd rather play a puzzle that i can be sure is solvable and reasonable because it's been made and QA tested by at least a dozen humans, rather than not be sure if i'm wasting my time trying to solve this room with boxes and circles and mushrooms.

also, a bit of guidance would be nice. it's a bit frustrating to lose a probably possible room because turns out testing that item i haven't seen before would launch me off the screen.

i think it could make for an interesting techdemo or game jam game, but i don't think it's really worth money.
