Xbox One controller
My Xbox 360 controller works fine, but my new Xbox One controller will not be recognized by the game's launcher. Any way to fix this, my 360 controller is very worn out.

Nice easy one here, you just need to download the drivers for your PC to recognise the pad

Thanks, but not that easy. My One controller is already working with all my games because drivers are installed, it is just this one game that refuses to work with it, it would not recognize it when it is plugged.

Ok I see, when you load the game it brings up an options box before playing, go over to controls and change it from keyboard/mouse to the Xbox pad, then click back to where it says begin game but instead of clicking on it, press A on your pad, the game should hopefully start up then with full controller support.

DPLauncher is brought up when you load the game from your library, there is an option for settings on there, I didn't see this first time round and wondered why my pad wasn't recognised.

The option to select a controller is greyed out in the DP launcher. But, from another post, I tried changing my xbox one controller to preferred contoller in the control pannel gamepad settings, and it seems to be working. I am going to try now, fingers crossed.

Nice, I hope that sorts it out.

Thanks, it is working now. The problem is the performance. After saving in the first telephone, the game gradually bogs down, like walking waist deep in quick sand. Is that an effect to enhance the feeling of deperation. I removed DP Fix, but performance is still crappy. Oh my God, what a port.

I had to change my compatibility settings to Win98/Me. Weird, but after that, the Xbox 360Controller works fine. No Pinnacle or Xpadder needed. Still haven't tried the XOne controller yet.

How did you get the Xbox One controller to work exactly? you explained it a tad vague and I can't find the post you're talking about

hi,
if you're still interested..here it goes.
go to control panel. open "devices and printers"(?), got a german windows, its "Geräte und Drucker", right click on your Xbox one game controller and click on the topmost point, "gamecontrolleroptions" or similar, should open the gamecontroller window where you see your game controller.select your xbox controller and click "extended/advanced", again, german windows, the one on the left above ok :) then select your xbox controller as your preferred device. done! should work now, did for me :) cheers!

At first all the button of the controller worked, but not the sticks and d-pad. Doing all this stuff got the left stick and the d-pad to work at least, but my right stick is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up. when I enter the game the camera is pointing upwards. moving the stick to left and right does nothing, but moving it up and down rotates the camera left and right! I made sure not the move the stick while starting the game, but the same thing happened. Inverting the camera makes the camera always look down and reverse the rotating. I looked in the controller figuration and tested with other games, the controller is working fine, just not with DP.
Also changing the compatibility setting made the fps shoot up. According to fraps I'm playing with smooth 240 fps

It's something odd with both the new controllers that are messing up the button mapping in this game. The Xbox One controller acts just like EvPointMaster describes it. The Dual Shock 4 doesn't even register as the same buttons as the Xbox's. For example: Square and X are in the same position but the Square registers as A when pressed.

But the 360 controller works just fine, even without the DPfix. Weird.

Fooled around for a bit before posting this text and found the solution to use InputMapper for the DS4 wich solved the problem for that controller. IM doesn't seem to work with the One controller, but a similar software that supports the One might solve the problem.

I can't play with my DS4 (with InputMapper and ds4tool)
It's impossible ?

the game is unplayable keyboard / mouse

Strange, it works for me at this very moment.

Try this: (Just clarifying a post above).
After you have started InputMapper go to Control panel > Devices and Printers. There you should see an icon of a 360 controller with the name "Xbox 360 Controller for Windows", right click on it and then click on "Game Controller Settings". In the next window you should see "Controller (Xbox 360 For Windows)", highlight it and then hit Advanced. Choose the Xbox Controller as prefered device and hit enter.

Now you should be able to play with your DS4!

PS. If you don't see the 360 controller icon in Devices an Printers then your InputMapper don't work as it should.
