Really no imbetween with this game,, all the campyness, low budget, poking fun at itself while telling a great story is almost non existent..
Alan Wake is kinda sorta close but very far away from this game... Wake also isn't open world,
Until then, we just have to wait for the good life to release.
I'd say you could also try out vampire the masquerade bloodlines, makes fun of itself all the time, plenty of humour, disturbing themes and characters. - unofficial patch required.
NIER/DRAKENGARD games might be up your alley too.
DRAKENGARD 3 had SWERY as the producer along with Yoko Taro as the director.
NIER Automata is a good start.
Akiba's Trip: Undead & Undressed is also decent in terms of humor.
Hyperdimension neptunia series.
The last two are a bit of a stretch but they're worth mentioning just because they're solid games, plenty of humor and good story balance.
