Is this game worth getting on PC?
I'm really interested in getting this game, but I have heard there are a lot of problems with the PC version. Since years have passed since its PC release, have there been more fixes made that make it worth getting? I do have a 360 and PS3, but I would like to get the PC version because, it is more convenient for me.

The game is good but the PC port crashes so frequently that it gets frustrating.

I played it on PS3. I have heard pretty nasty things about PC version. O'm buying it myself. I don't have PS3 anymore and now, for ess then 3 Euro, PC version is not a big risk
It's worth it for the current price if you can run it without it crashing every 10 minutes. I was lucky and only had a couple crashes across 30+ hours but many have had it much worse. Try it for <2 hours and just refund if it's too unstable.

depends on what you like (some Twin Peaks/ SH vibes), I randomly bought it when it was on sale and it turned out great. it's rly cheap now and the game itself is, imo, worth its full price. for me, there weren't any problems and the game crashed only once or twice when I was just getting started (after 2 hours of playing or so), then it worked just perfectly. I didn't use the fix so idk I might have been pretty lucky to avoid crashing.

Same here applied DPfix and only got a couple crashes. I did get the car screeching a few times. That is horrifically annoying

I honestly recommend people to at least play the game once. Read my review for my thoughts about the game.

The only donwside is the PC port's subpar technical quality: you will have to download DPFix to make it run correctly and the game may crash. But if you can find the PS3 Director's Cut version for almost as cheap as this, get that one then.

Short answer in my vew no it is not . The above poster makes mention of the TV show twin peaks This game has references to that TV show as well as some other cultural references to the silent hill series as well . for people who have not seen twin peaks I know shocking that these people actually exist . From what i have been reading It is less likely that you are going to fully enjoy the game . As you are not going to get all the twin peaks related jokes or humor It seems that the people who "get" the twin peaks references are the ones that are going to be more forgiving of the games repeated crashing and from what i have read on this forum you are going to have to do at least 3 things to the game before it is going to actually work without crashing for you .

Without talking about all the various cultural references that are in the game this is the basic game play needed to complete the game The game is likely to crash at least once without modification.
1
you are given a map where you have to kill a bunch of zombies and find 3 objects

2 after you find the 3 objects you usually have to complete a quick time event .

3 after you complete the quick time event a cut scene happens . and you have completed a game section

4 after the cut scene you have to move your game character to a location in the game world during a certain in game time frame . where another cut scene happens . Then you go back to 1 this process repeats itself until the game ends.

There are over 50 side quest where in game characters will get you to find and move various things . non of which i had done seems most of these are fetch quest in other words you have to get a certain object or set of objects to get an in game reward. These need to be done during a certian in game time frame .

here is the wikopedia link for the game for more information.

From all the reviews I have read, I think it is better to get the Xbox 360 version. I have the PC copy right now and will see if I can play through it, but with the sale at gamestop I could get a Xbox 360 disc for $2.50(if you buy 4 games that retail at less than $5) and not have to put with all the problems that everyone has outlined.
