[SPOILERS] help with final maze, please

[step 1: always boss up]

i mean the maze in the vents where you have to avoid the monstrous horse-centipede thing. every playthough/guide i've encountered just says to avoid it as much as i can, or they transition to the dark corridor after a few deaths. no matter what i do, i can't seem to progress at all. is there a certain path i need to take? a certain amount of time i need to avoid the monster before i die? certain amount of deaths i need to go through? please let me know if you have any idea, thank you!

In my case, every time I hear the monster I turn right then when you will be faced with the monster in front of you, you should be good. It did take a while.

I just went in a diagonal and got to the next bit.

you just need to avoid it for a certain amount of time, turn a corner when it is looking at you

i just stopped moving whenever it came near and never died

So once I got to "the creature" I literally just ran straight ahead down the hall full speed no stopping and that worked somehow?

As far as I'm aware you just look at it while walking backwards, the light makes it go away

Honest to god, I just hugged the left side and went straight and never looked back.
That's how I finally got it
