[[[SPOILERS]]] Ending stuff with Anya
Question for anybody who's interested, did you find that the baby stuff they had with Anya was impactful to the story at all?

The game is obviously going for a story that very bleak and human, but I feel like she had enough issues going on!! It honestly in the moment made me think it was almost padding the human misery they were all dealing with in the moment. Everything involving it I found to either be silly or just frustrating. Maybe it's cause I'm dumb and the horse baby ultra sound puzzle took me a long time to figure out, but it didn't feel necessary at all. Especially since you have the puzzle with Curly almost directly after.

As well as the vent section?? Since you practically can't lose it, it felt like I was just wandering around and dodging until something happened.

IDK I just feel like psychological stuff lovessss to push a baby in the picture so often, and so I found it annoying honestly. Loved everything else about the game just, this felt honestly like a waste of time and felt like it made the ending a lot more messy for no reason.

The ultrasound puzzle took me a while to figure out as well... I totally understand what you mean about psychological horror often overusing babies, but in this case I thought it fit into the story okay. Considering a large part of the story is about "taking responsibility", I think the baby contributed towards the emphasis placed on that statement. Jimmy is unable to take responsibility for what was created due to his actions and because of that the baby torments him.

ah this makes a little more sense yeah. i think my annoyance is mostly due to how late in the game anya tells curly about her pregnancy, but since everyone falls apart really extremely once curlys gone, it fits more now that i think about it. and with how she was freaking out at curlys birthday party to after they all got the bad news. i might like it more once i replay the game for myself with that in mind. thanks <3

On the surface it might seem tangential, but I think the baby is actually the primary reason Jimmy crashed the Tulpar. Of course the company firing them contributed to his motivations, but it wasn't until Anya told him about the baby that he completely lost his ♥♥♥♥. He knew once they landed there would be no way to deny his crime, so that was his way of avoiding responsibility.

When Curly finds Jimmy right after he finds out about the baby, Jimmy says "What do you think will happen now when we get back? Everything you and I worked for in our lives. Accomplishments, changes. None of it will matter." If it was just about having to find a new job, do you think he'd be saying that?

Then he tries to share blame. "It's not just me is it? You were supposed to be the one who had everything under control. The ship, the crew, everything that happened here... This was your responsibility, Captain." Curly was the captain, so it's his fault that Jimmy was able to rape Anya. So Jimmy is doing both of them a favour
