Evangelion Allusions Intentional?

I haven't processed everything of what the story was about...or if this is even thematically relevant. But I'm curious if the devs took inspiration from Neon Genesis Evangelion at least in its aesthetics. Curly bandaged up looks a heckuva lot like Unit 01 at times. And the bold white text flashing on black backgrounds just reminded me a lot of Eva's font treatment. Just curious. Very enrapturing story that was well paced, devs! Kudos!

I believe so. There were blatant references in HFIM (How fish is made), specifically for an advert for Mouthwashing. And one of the old photos i remember was set up much like the title cards from the show.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one that picked up on the flashing text. I was pointing at the screen like "they did the thing!"
