Why dont they kill curly and how does he survive for 2 months?

This guy wont get any better to say the least and theyve got tons of heavy painkillers.
Why not overdose him?
And how does he survive for more than two months without getting food or drink? And with noone treating his wounds for so long. Pretty stupid IMHO.
Especially as the game expects me to take everything else pretty seriously.

In a conversation between Jimmy and Anya he says they voted on it so that's what they're doing.
Sure maybe it makes sense to just overdose him or something but are you gonna be the one to do it? Okay they think he tried to kill them all but does that make it any easier?

It's occasionally implied that in their sci-fi future Curly has a real chance at rehabilitation if he could get on-planet. Maybe they would Robocop him or something. They also don't realize how screwed they are at first and have real hope that help will soon be on the way. I think from there it was just momentum.

Curly embodies Jimmy's guilt - everything Jimmy does is in service of keeping Curly alive, and seeking some manner of foregiveness from him. So he obviously voted strongly in favor of keeping Curly alive. It's not logical but it is an understandable reaction from Jimmy, given what he did and how ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up he is.

As for how... space magic, let's go with that. Narrative convenience.
