Cloud Saves

Hey there,

Played the demo for Mouthwashing and loved it. Have been really excited to jump into it on my pc and steam deck and was curious if there was any plans to add cloud saves? I know sometimes engine limitations can make that hard but thought it wouldn’t hurt to ask. Thanks and congratulations on the strong reception so far!

Currently no plans to. Mostly cause the game is only like 2.5 hours, so players tend to finish in one session anyways.

Copying your save file in between machines manually tho is very easy.

+1 for cloud saves, was really looking forward to resuming my playthrough on the steamdeck. It should be as easy as adding "App Install Directory" -> Mouthwashing_Data_SaveFiles -> StoryProgress.dat in the cloud section of steamworks.

We can look into that if its so simple. I've just never messed around with that section of the Steam SDK.

Another in favor of cloud saves. I was trying to resume on my deck but instead had to start over. Like you said, the game is not very long, but i dont think it is uncommon to take breaks after an hour of game.

Dammit. Just played a little bit on my desktop and wanted to resume on my Deck since I'm away from home and realized it doesn't have cloud saves. Please add this. It's really simple to set up.

Yeah. I ended up just speedrunning until I got to where I was on my desktop. And I finished the game on my Deck once I got home because I really didn't want to hunt down the save file and transfer it over.

Huh, I honestly never knew I've been taking cloud saves for granted. +1 for cloud saves too!

+1 for cloud saves it's really important to be able to pick up and put down the game between platforms like Deck/PC

Yeah, I'm getting my dignity handed to me by a bit with shooting and I would love to play that on my PC rather than my Deck.

I play for 30 mins at a time sometimes across different devices. This is Amiga or Spectrum level save capability. Please sort it.
