Spoilers: Who was screwed over hardest?
Anya could be number one, since everything she went through was so horrible and she deserved better

Curly is a solid number two, saved from the number one spot by the pod and nothing else.

I really do feel bad for Daisuke, poor kid was trying his best and got utterly mangled by a big hero saying "Go into the death hole Jimmy, to solve the problem I caused." Plus I'm pretty sure it wasn't Swansea who axed the kid, despite what we all saw.

Swansea also suffered hard, but at least he was drunk as hell and probably had the least amounts of regrets, trauma, and suffering out of all the victims.

I think rather than trying to figure out who btwn Anya and Curly had it worse, it’s a lil more helpful to think abt how their situations mirrored one another. Curly couldn’t truly see Anya’s situation for what it was until he was put in her position. Curly is completely ripped away from anything that could keep him in denial abt Jimmy’s character and actions. Anya meanwhile, went through a frighteningly common and realistic situation, being raped by a dangerous man who holds authority over you, who u have to interact with daily, and who is protected by someone powerful and well regarded.

So imo, Id wanna experience Curly’s situation the least, but irl you’re way more likely to actually experience something like what Anya went through (regardless of gender), and there are people you know in your life who have been in a situation like that. Most don’t disclose for good reasons, like we see dismissal and minimization has consequences. Irl the survivors are the ones who are burdened with those consequences the most.

What I like abt Swansea’s suffering, is how I’d probably make the same choice as him, I’d rather embrace intoxication rather than coping with the horrors. But bc he did that he became more vulnerable to Jimmy, unintentionally leading to the worst person in the crew to drive the person he cared abt most to his death.

While I still hold Jimmy as the one who indirectly killed Daisuke, Swansea still made a choice there. It’s a tragedy, an unfortunate series of choices, happenings, and discoveries. And Daisuke ofc, was never supposed to be on the ship in the first place.

I’d probably want to be in Daisuke’s place the most though, if I could magically have his mindset and obliviousness. He’s still struggling with depression in his own way but fr he has some resiliency against the horrors bc he doesn’t overthink

I think I just realized something: Maybe that, "..." at the locked medbay door wasn't Anya refusing to talk, maybe it was Jimmy not having the balls to say anything that could have helped.
