(SPOILERS) Thoughts on the ending

I loved the game, especially its story and themes. But I have one question about the ending. How does it actually serve to meaningfully bookend the game, frankly I don't think Jimmys choice to put Curly in the cryopod is at all a good thing, at best its something that'll leave Curly suffering for *much* longer whilst deluding himself into thinking he actually took responsibility for once. And that's fine, but why choose to end there, I feel like there isn't enough of a difference between doing that and any of the other actions he'd done throughout the game and justified it in his own mind. Am I missing something, or is it just a way to end off the story of the Tulpar's crew whilst cementing the themes of the game.

You're on point. Jimmy is an irreemable selfish delusional monster who destroys everything by not taking responsibility for his actions and never realizing the consequences of his actions beyond what is right infront of him. Even his last monstrous act is to subject a greater man whose only sin was to be soft with him, to an extended horrific demise 20 years later when the cryo shuts down.
