jimmy's perception of fixing things was skewed by his delusions, selfishness, jealousy and guilt, he was in no place to fix things, swansea knew that when he mercy killed daisuke. he told jimmy 'now he won't have to suffer any longer because of your delusions.'
jimmy was never in a place to fix anything unless he fixed himself first, and he never knew that he had to do that. he went the long road to his own demise, and drew it out as long as he could, and in the end, it amounted to almost nothing.
a dead crew and a barely surviving captain in a cryostasis chamber, and let's face fact, who says curly's body won't conk out on him the moment he leaves that chamber?
