Help, I can't play it and can't find tech support/control-related information

Every time I try to use google or reddit to solve the issues I'm having, the results are the game's steam page and then a lot of results about actual mouthwash...anyway, when I first launched the game I saw a lot of bright white and blue flashes that I thought were some kind of artistic choice to show clouded vision, but they made it almost impossible to see anything and I realized they weren't supposed to be happening. I was also only able to move my viewpoint extremely slowly (I am playing with a trackpad and not a "real" mouse) and also not able to move the POV beyond rotating in a very slow circle. (Also not able to click on anything except the first lever and the 'locked' red button.)

To solve the problem I uninstalled some graphics thing from my computer and the blue and white flashing is gone but now the mouse issue is even worse, I can't turn in a circle anymore. I can't find any information, even trying to google for the controls of the game doesn't turn anything up, just actual Mouthwash. Can someone please tell me:
a) is there a way to move your character/viewpoint other than your mouse (ex. keyboard commands)?
b) Is it expected to be able to play with a trackpad or is the game designed for use with a mouse and that's the reason I can't play?

I know it's not supposed to be like this, I checked the first couple minutes of Let's Plays and the players were able to move very fluidly and quickly.

I know these questions are very basic but I literally cannot find this info anywhere through google.

Hi! Sorry to hear you're having issues. To answer your first question, there are no other ways of moving your view than using a mouse/joystick.

That said, a trackpad should still function fine. Make sure that your look sensitivity is set correctly, and let us know should that not be the issue.

Would also like to know what's causing this, had to refund the game as it was unplayable.
