Stuck on the ultrasound section

For the life of me I can't figure out what to do to make the game go forward. I take the ultrasound machine and start scanning the "mass" but from here I am just missing something. Because even after several minutes nothing happens.

There's something in there you have to aim the scanner at for a few seconds. The noise should guide you to it.
