I get he didn't want a child. I get he is jealous of the captain. and he was defending himself from swansea, but whats jim the fixers motif for killing daisuke?

I just finished my first playthrough last night and may have missed some stuff or misinterpreted some things, but wasn't Jim trying to actually save Daisuke? Am I misremembering?

jim sending daisuke up the vent was not plot to kill him imo, that was demonstrating his desperate attempt to salvage the situation with anya and curly trapped up there while also affirming his position as captain. he wants to be the guy who, through “strong leadership” and “delegation”, saves the day. but that scene in particular shows us how much that mindset betrays this deep ingrained inner cowardice. he has no real malice towards daisuke besides perhaps jealousy towards what he thinks Must be a cushier background, and when swansea takes care of daisuke I feel like we see jimmy frozen. trapped in this moment reckoning with the fact that he failed. he doesn’t stop swansea from doing it, but has no issue with calling him a monster instead of himself.

yea jimmy gave daisuke more mouthwash... but daisuke was already intoxicated with the stuff. so I thought he was trying to salt the wound at that point. okay, so it was just fate that daisuke got wounded and eventually died. I see.

He was trying to use the mouthwash to disinfect Daisuke's wounds- even though Anya said earlier that the mouthwash had too much sugar to disinfect. He wasn't being cruel, he was being incompetent.
