- Anya asks why the doors to medical have a lock on them but not their actual rooms
- Post crash, Anya's sleeping bag is located near the motion-activated Polle, implying that she's worried about something happening in the night. Until she moves her own mattress into the medical bay.
- Jimmy doesn't really see her as a person. He never acknowledges her or interacts with her in a positive way. Even in his mind, a lot of things that tie to Anya are tied to horses, which imply that he's seeing her as nothing more than a "broodmare"
- After she had told Jimmy she was pregnant, he was upset about it because when they returned from the voyage, the baby would've been born by then and, if I'm remembering right, he states "What do you think people are going to assume?" or "What do you think she's going to tell them?". Something along those lines.
- On top of that, Anya hides the gun case from Jimmy because she's worried he'll do something drastic with it. In the end, Jimmy crashes the Tulpar because he knows it'll get him out of consequences if they're all dead.
As for people in this thread asking why Curly didn't do anything? It's also implied/somewhat stated that Jimmy is in the position that he is in on Tulpar because he knows Curly. With the Pony Express, it's pretty clear that anything that is seen as negative (opening the cargo prior to delivery, etc.) can lead to the higher ups docking their pay. Curly either: a) didn't want to submit a report and therefore cause everyone's last trip on the Tulpar to be a complete and utter waste or b) Jimmy is his friend and he doesn't want to rock the boat.
It's also hard/near impossible to take Jimmy at his word for things because he's an unreliable narrator. The overarching words of "take responsibility" are just something he's not willing to do.
That's true! It's possible that she was laying down hints but, like you said, Curly doesn't pick up on the details and wasn't really grasping just how serious the situation was.
i very much appreciate the coincidence of being banned right after saying i wouldn't, but for the record, i was banned for something completely unrelated to the hard r rape word, for a post in a different thread.
unmoderated and yet i still got banned
