Accept not everything is made for everyone and stop limiting artiistic freedom.
And yes it spoils games, if you get a trigger warning for the topic of self-harm you expect it at some point and when it happens it already lost it shock value (wich can be a powerfull message if you not expecting it, making you more aware of signs in a second playthrough and helping you to detect these things in your life).
So no, you know what you are in for already, if you have fears and can´t handle a game with the topic don´t touch it or use it as motivation to face your fears and seek help to overcome them.
Majority, if not all other horror games that have the same themes disclose that they have them, I never saw anyone complaining about the game being spoiled for them, saying that they spoil is a stretch, if you're so afraid of getting it just ignore the big screen that says DISCLAIMER, your point is redundant
Here's a way to avoid trauma triggers, avoid horror games.
