Hitman: Contracts

Hitman: Contracts

Hitman Contracts for the newer systems
Does anybody else believe that they should make an updated version of Hitman Contracts that would work on the newer systems? Like it was done with BloodRayne; Terminal Cut? They must really do this. It's extremely unfair that many of us bought it but we can't play it on the newest systems. And annoying.

Newest systems?

If you're on PC this works, at most you need to use a compatibility mode.

? Op you do realize that the new trilogy and contracts aren’t using the same engine if not outdated. Also blood rayne is from a different dev and publisher.

I already did that. It doesn't work. No matter what I do, no matter which of the solutions the others say work for them I try, it just doesn't work. I tried everything.

Still, what compatibility mode should I use? With what version of Windows?

I know that Contracts run on different engine and that it's different from the trilogy. I wasn't talking about the trilogy, I was talking about the 2004 game Hitman: Contracts.
So what if BlooRayne was created by a different publisher? Any games creator can do the same with any game. Especially one like IOI.

It’s been awhile since I’ve run contracts, don’t recall ever needing anything I run compatability for it though you can always check the Pcwiki. Also it matters because there have been plenty of remakes or remasters of some games and not others. That said obvious reason is IOI doesn’t think it’s worth the time or effort for it.

first you said you tried all the suggestions, now you admit you didn't try all the compatability modes?

Just look at the store page and see the requirements, it should work in any of the OS compatibility modes listed there, I run it in XP just fine with no issues.

I wanted to know which one do YOU use since you say it works for you. I just tried compatibility mode with windows 98/me and xp. It doesn't work. It still runs at over 300-400 FPS. When I start it, when I'm in that white room, the game actually runs at 600-700 FPS. Which he moves very slowly, in slow motion.

So? Cap your frame rates. You should have your GPU settings capped at your monitor hz. You should have that set globally anyway or you're just pointlessly over heating your gpu.

I did that man. Don't you think I did that? I capped the game's FPS at 20 in the game itself, nothing.

The game doesn't even have that as an option in the game itself.

No, but you can do it from the NVidia control panel... That's where I did it from. Still nothing. It still runs at over 30-400 FPS and sometimes even higher.

I don't think you understand what was suggested. There is no option in game to set your frame rate. You do it from your GPU control panel.

1. Your global frame rate should be at or just below your monitor hz rating (mines 144)

2. Older games sometimes run better at lower than this, you can set it lower, usually either 60 or 30 for older games

3. I have no idea why you would ever consider 20, that would be intentionally creating stutter and lag on screen, anything below 30 looks terrible

I just launched the game on windows 10 without even using a compatibility mode and it works just fine for me with it capped at 60

There's plenty of places you could find this info:
https://www.hitmanforum.com/t/running-hitman-contracts-and-the-other-classics-on-win10-in-widescreen-properly/1633/5

All legacy Hitman games run fine for me on a 1440p 144hz monitor with the latest Win10 build and Nvidia driver. I use RTSS to limit my framerate to 110fps on all 4 games but it’s only really required for Silent Assassin and Contracts from what I have experienced. And I use only DirectX, because I have some issues with OpenGL (except for Codename 47 maybe but I prefer to stay with D3D + 1024x768).

You said you did it in the game itself, now you're changing your story again. :steamfacepalm:
