Strange flickering problems when the game loads and plays cutscenes.
Hi, I've been trying to sort out a really strange flickering problem that occurs whenever loading screens trigger or when cutscenes play. The game itself plays fine (Although when playing in 1st Person mode, 47's hands and weapons dissappear from sight) but the cutscenes and loading screens have a really weird flickering issue I can't seem to fix. I've looked all over the internet searching for a solution but to no prevail. I'm running Windows 8.1 on a Pentium processor with HD Graphics (Yes I know, I'm a noob) so is there anything I can do to stop this?

Ok update on the situation, the flickering has completely fixed itself but now it has some really strange lagging problems. I'l try and sort it out.

Right, what I've deduced from the situation is that changing the rendering options in the game's INI settings causes the game to ensue the flickering issues. I changed the rendering options from 'RenderD3D' to 'RenderOpenGL'. I'm really starting to run out of ideas here. The 'RenderOpenGL' option fixes the lagging and latency issues I was having at the cost of having the flickering cutscenes and loading screens.

did you try compatibility mode with win xp?

No it didn't work. And to be honest, I didn't expect it to. Compatibility mode never works with me :(

well it doesnt sound so bad if its only in loading screens and cutscenes right? you can watch the cutscenes online if you want :p

Nope, don't worry. I fixed it completely. turned off post filtering. It now plays completely fine, cutscenes and all.

How did you turn of post filtering? i have the same problem with my game. like parts of the game dont render and make things invisible. maybe i also have you problem.

From the main menu screen, go into the options menu and find the graphics settings. From there, go to the 'Advanced' section to access more graphical options and then look for 'Post Filter'. Put the slider that controls that option until it disables it. Hope that helps you pal. I'd completely forgotten about this thread to be honest!

Just in case this helps anyone, all I had to do was turn Exclusive Fullscreen to Fullscreen. All other settings I left as they were. I think it's a DX12 issue for me but I was able to leave that on by changing the fullscreen setting.
