I really liked the visuals to this game, and the controls were fine. But it just didn't click with me gameplay wise compared to most platformers, as the movement felt slightly stiff and not very dynamic.

This game is hard. The controls are stiff, the jumps and timings are tight. There are stutters, too. That said, once you get the feeling of the game, it's quite enjoyable, with some nice level design moments, some nice songs and an adventure feeling. I was ready to rage quit the game at a certain moment, but I'm glad I persisted. Overall, I recommend it.

Challenging but rewarding Platforming, a fun depth based gimmick (that admittedly isn't as transformative as it was on the 3DS), and amazing chiptune music. Great re-playability as well. For how cheap this gets on sale it's absolutely worth the price.

The grandma levels kind of suck big time but the normal levels are fun.
I think that the game's idea of "challenge" is more just making really long levels with annoying enemy placements, which makes me worried about the sequel. BUT I did enjoy the first 20 levels and their secret areas quite a bit

This game gets a dragon rating of 0/10, for no dragons.

Honestly, this is kind of mixed for me. If you like retro-styled platformers you'll probably enjoy this one, but if you don't then... well... you won't. I'm not fond of the jumping in this game to be honest, nor am I very fond of the enemy placement many times - but it's not *bad* per se, so much as not to my taste. It's perfectly serviceable, perfectly mechanically solid and perfectly adjusted to work as intended - I just am not much of a fan of how it was intended.

A fun little platformer that's a bit on the easier side but has enough challenge to keep you entertained for a few hours. It goes for the 8-bit nostalgic look and feel and greatly succeeds. The controls are tight. Nothing groundbreaking on the level design but it's still a solid game.

A word of caution for completionists: Make sure to be online when playing this, as some achievements won't register while playing offline and you'll have to work through them again.

i bought it because I was feeling nostalgic, but I remembered why i stopped playing it in the first place: the controls SUCK. this game is WAY harder than it needs to be for the sole reason that the controls are like blowing a golf ball around on the floor
