Why the generic font for languages other than English

Like in the first game the font for languages other than English is quite generic and doesn't not fit the medieval setting. I know other languages have additional letters, that had to be added to the custom font, which honestly is not really an excuse.

Alternatively there are also free fonts that would fit much better than the generic one, and also support additional characters.
