Maybe consider to install the "DS4"-Software which fixes the PS-Controller issue for many games. Since the PS5-Controllers are able to play sounds theoretically windows recognizes them as main output without clearly telling you.

So controls and sound may be a PS5-Controller issue.
Had this with many many games already :D
Thanks for getting in touch and sharing your concerns.
As Vyrux mentioned, it might be an issue with the PS5 controller, though we can’t rule that out definitively. Regarding the sound issue, could you let us know if it persists even when the PS5 controller is disconnected?
In the meantime, we recommend verifying your game files, and if that doesn’t resolve the problem, consider fully uninstalling and reinstalling the game.
While it’s entirely up to you whether you follow Vyrux’s advice, we’re unable to recommend downloading third-party software on our end.
Glad to see the controller issue has been resolved, are you able to try the troubleshooting here: https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/5389-9AE7-8969-BD70
Also, can you please send us an image of your sound settings volume mixer apps section whilst the game is running?
Cheers,
1. Not using a sound card.
2. I am using a program called VoiceMeter to allow audio to play simultaneously through my headphones and speakers, it emulates an audio output device.
3. My Volume Mixer settings do not show the game at all, it's as though it's not even being detected. I have sound in everything else, even while the game is running.
4. Sound settings in the game were at max, changing them at all made no difference.
5. I have only ever had this issue ONE other time, with a game called Laika: Aged Through Blood (can be found here on steam)
Hopefully this helps, and I would love to re-purchase the game in the future if the sound issue is resolved, as I was a huge fan of the first game.
Thanks for this discussion,I almost refund my game due this audio issue. Just found NVIDIA RTX voice app running in background, I disabled that app and it's working.
