Bug or just a limitation of the engine ?

Not sure if you are still reading the forum Taron.

You normally only need 5 spears hits to kill this plant as you know it and she does not regenerate his health, i even tested to be sure as i had a doubt by staying out of the screen but not too far so she was not attacking at this moment and his health did not regenerate. It only happen if you go far away.

As you can see in video i hit her at least eight times after going back from falling and it happens consistently in any level, don't know about other ennemies i did not try.

Yeah that is a bug. Enemies aren't supposed to reset their health when they go far off-screen. They do get temporarily de-spawned in order to save on processing, but when they are re-spawned they are supposed to remember their health. I'm honestly shocked that this isn't working and has been broken this whole time. I'm certain it worked correctly at some point during development but I have no idea when or how it broke.

Sadly, its pretty unlikely to get fixed at this point. I am not actually part of Crazy Viking Studios any more, and it has been so long since any patches released for Volgarr and it doesn't really sell much at all any more so I doubt anything like this would get patched at this point. It's a nearly decade-old game now.

Ah i wish i discovered that earlier but not so obivous as you never really go back in levels particulary when speedrunning, it was pure unluck or luck that i find out about it.

Sad to learn that you are not part of CVS anymore, it's unlikely that Volgarr will ever get a second part as good as what we had here.

FYI this was fixed with the latest hotfix (that otherwise did nothing but remove the Adult Swim Games logo)

Really cool.

For the joke in the meantime the community have to fix herself bugs on Valve games and create anti cheats that are better than a multi millionary company.
