Bought Spore on a disc- can I download Galactic adventures?

So I bought Spore on a disc, but I want Galactic adventures. Can I buy Galactic adventures off Steam or off the Origin site, and still be able to play it with Spore?

Yes I just learned that about 20 minutes ago. But there's no notice on the Origin store page here> https://www.origin.com/en-us/store/buy/74465/pc-download/addon/spore-galactic-adventures-pc-download--ANW.html#details I don't expect you to know but could I buy this and have it work? Or do I have to buy the actual disc?

Maybe it's cuz Steam force-patches Spore up to 5.x when installing Steam version and your disk-version ain't patched or wrong version? idk..

But then again, you can reclaim CD key at Origin anytime when you have an account and link that one to Steam account+ download DLC from here?

No it just doesn't work that way. I bought spore on disk too, then I got Galacttic adventures and I had to rebuy spore from steam.

You can try to activate your game with Origin then buy GA there to complete it. However GA is not that great. The missions made by players are a bit off, and even those made by Maxix feel unplayable after a while. Oddly, vanilla Spore, without GA missions, feels better to me, even though I play GA everytime. But I try to avoid GA missions. Never went too far with the Space Captain stuff.
