So far nothing for Creepy & Cute Parts Pack
https://steamdb.info/patchnotes/16096027/
https://steamdb.info/patchnotes/16095569/
https://steamdb.info/depot/17441/
So if you install Creepy & Cute Parts Pack last you will go back to v1.3.0.22 instead of v1.3.0.29
What you linked to pertains to all three packages, which is why the top of the page says, "Depot 17441 for Spore (SPORE™), and 2 other apps… "
But they are standalone, it does include the base game. Go launch just the Creepy & Cute Parts Pack from your library and check what happened to your /SporeBin/SporeApp.exe
Tell me which version is it after you launch the Creepy Pack. Is it v1.3.0.22 or v1.3.0.29?
That's right, it goes back to v1.3.0.22 because the deport that comes with that pack hasn't been patched.
On Steam the Base Game, Creepy & Cute Parts Pack and Galactic Adventures are three standalone packages.
Besides, the version numbers you're hung up on aren't displayed in-game, so the only place you're getting them from is the depot page that you have been misinterpreting the entire time. And trying to launch the Creepy & Cute Parts Pack directly results in an error code 86, because it's not a game.
I just tested it and Creepy & Cute Parts Pack works perfectly fine on its own without having to download Spore or GA. But it uses the old executable as stated previously.
The version numbers are irrelevant, with that I'll agree. But you are wrong about the rest. You are the one who doesn't understand how the depot page works.
Again, download Creepy & Cute Parts Pack on it's own, run it and check the executable version in your games installation directory and see what version it is.
Then run Spore itself and check again. The executable keeps changing. It's not difficult to test.
The Creepy & Cute pack only adds one file to the directory where the base game is installed - BoosterPack_01.package, in the bp1content folder. The rest of the files come from the base game and Galactic Adventures. There are only two versions of SporeApp.exe installed into the game directory - the base version is located in the SporeBin folder, while Galactic Adventures is located in SporebinEP1. Both of these can load the C&C data if it is installed.
If you go out of your way to circumvent the update process, you have manufactured an excuse to complain under false pretenses. You did it to yourself, not because of, but in spite of the way the developers set up the update process. That's colloquially known as a you problem.
Verify the integrity of the game files for the base game, and your intentionally manufactured scenario will be wiped out and replaced with the correct files.
For the last time, Creepy & Cute Parts Pack downloads two depots. Not just one.
First one is this https://steamdb.info/depot/17442/ where it downloads BoosterPack_01.package that you mentioned
Second one is this https://steamdb.info/depot/17441/ where it downloads the outdated executable /SporeBin/SporeApp.exe
You can not stop it from downloading that second depot when you click on Install on Steam for Creepy & Cute Parts Pack
Nobody is trying to circumvent the update process, you are now just creating fake scenarios.
I'm sure they'll put the new executable in that depot in the next few days. I am done here. Enjoy the rest of your day.
