Are you using the same EA account for both Spore and Origin? There's a guide on C&C's game hub for making the C&C parts work again. Also, make sure you use the CD keys for the expansions too.

Yes! i got it working, I just needed to reinstal origin and i spiked Galactic adventures' drink with the creepy and cute pack (I found that it only installs itsrlf into regular spore and that you must have spore in your library to use it)

Are you putting the package files in DataEP1?

It's all going to
C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\SPORE Galactic Adventures\Data

Do you have two copies of Spore installed? (Origin and Steam, for example)
If you do, uninstall one of them.

It is the Data Directory that it says is missing if that helps

Delete the ModAPI and either reinstall Spore or uninstall it and install the other version.

I think my spore versions are weirdly linked together, the origin ones dont work when the steam ones are uninstalled
I think Im gonna wait till I get my new laptop and just buy the disk, then mod the disc version
Thank you so much for your help though
(and I cant get the modapi off of my laptop, my laptop is kinda evil and is probably screwing with it, something that is all too common with it)

The disc version is outdated. Mods made for the updated versions are not compatible with the disc version.

Spore finds the Data folders by using something in the computer registry, which points to the location of the Data folders. This is why the Origin version was linked to the Steam version on your PC.

Uninstalling Spore and reinstalling only one copy is the only way to fix it.

You can install an update for the spore disc that makes it compatable on dark injection's download page

if it says "unable to find preferences" - I've found that this is caused by running an expansion pack before running the main game. Run Spore vanilla first, it will create preference files, then run whatever else next. Good luck.
